Retainer InstructionsIn order to get the best results from your retainer, you have to take care of it! This will save you money in the long run from having to buy replacements.

If you find that speaking is challenging at first, we recommend singing, reading aloud, and talking more than usual. The more you practice, the more comfortable you will be! Be sure to wear your retainer at all times until instructed otherwise by your orthodontist. When it’s not being used, keep it in its case for protection. You also want to make sure you bring it to all appointments with you.

Tips for Retainer Care:

  • Make a habit of rinsing your retainer and checking it after every meal.
  • Keep your retainer from hot things such as, hot water, pockets, laundry.
  • Use warm water instead of hot water.
  • Brush your retainer to remove plaque and prevent a buildup.
